Last weekend was our first Super Sunday of the program year. Parish Pastoral Assistant, Lori Parks, gave a presentation based on this year's Catechetical Sunday theme,
"Enlisting Witnesses for Christ". Among other things, the presentation highlighted the alarming trend of the "Nones", a growing section of the population comprised mostly of young people who no longer identify as Catholic or even as Christian. To read what Bishop Robert Barron has to say about this alarming trend in his 2018 Catechetical Sunday Welcome Message, click

The presentation also highlighted our need to overcome what we might label as "shyness" when it comes to our baptismal call to evangelize others.
This video from Fr. Mike Schmitz was shared with those gathered in the hall last Sunday morning. Please take a few minutes to watch it and then resolve to enlist as a witness for Christ in the coming year. Here are some suggestions:
¨
Look for the OPEN DOOR and then walk through it by talking to your spouse, your children, your family members, your friends, your co-workers, your players or whomever else you may encounter about faith and how it shapes you.
¨
Be someone’s ANDREW by leading them to Christ.
¨
Let JESUS be Jesus. Bring people to him and let him do the rest.
¨
PRAY for the people who surround you. ¨
Be a DOER of the Word by putting your faith into action.
¨
FLEX your moral muscles by seizing opportunities to grow in faith during the coming year (attend a parish Faith Formation session, read a good Catholic book, listen to a faith-based podcast or video series, etc…).
¨
Remember that you may never know how the people you lead to Christ will be TRANSFORMED and how they may potentially TRANSFORM the world!
