We, the Roman Catholic Community of Saint Benedict’s Parish of Ridgely,
In communion with our Holy Father and the universal Church, in union with our Bishop, and under the leadership of our Pastor, we seek to live out vocation:
+ To be a community of faith, mutual respect, and support, continuing a tradition that
has spanned over 150 years. We strive to be welcoming to all, especially those
who are new to our community.
+ To share with others the Good News of salvation announced through Jesus Christ
and handed on by His Body, the Church. We work to provide for life-long faith
formation of all members of our community especially through religious education
and sacramental preparation programs.
+ To celebrate the mysteries of our life in Christ so as to deepen our faith and
promote our participation in the greater community. We seek to offer liturgies
rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition to nourish our personal and communal
spiritual life.
+ To grow in our understanding of the Gospel and in our conviction of its power.
We strive to share this understanding not only with our fellow parishioners but
also with those in our area who are unchurched.
+ To serve our brothers and sisters by seeking justice for all, especially those on the
fringes of our society. We offer our gifts of time, talent and treasure to those in
need through a variety of church and civic outreach programs.
Relying upon the grace of our ever-faithful God and rejoicing in the many gifts of the Holy Spirit, we willingly respond to the commission of Jesus Christ to build His Kingdom until He comes again. Until that great day, we seek to live, to love, and to labor, trusting that God, who began the great work in us, will bring it to completion.
