The Blessed Virgin Mother Ladies' Sodality will host a Meet & Greet Event at their first gathering of the 2024-2025 program year on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 beginning at 6:30p.m. in the Parish Hall. All women of the parish age 18 and older are invited.
Our parish Vacation Bible School was held during the week of July 8-12. Over 30 children ages 3-12 gathered for fun, food and faith with an Olympics theme. Check out some photo highlights from the week here.
On Tuesday, June 25, our parish will host a brunch/lunch in appreciation and celebration of our parishioners aged 65 and older. VBS will be held the week of July 8th – July 12th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with sign-in being 8:30 to 8:45 each morning. VBS is for kids ages 3 (must be potty-trained) – 12 years old. Our theme this year is Cathletics! Training to be Champions for Christ! This Olympic sport themed VBS will feature faith, music, crafts, snacks, and fun games! If you are looking for service hours or just something to do over the summer, volunteering at VBS is a great opportunity!
Mother’s Day is right around the corner and the St. Joan of Arc Council is having a flower sale to raise money for our seminarians, Dylan Emerson & Joseph Lewis and Sr. Amanda Marie de Jesus who is in novitiate with the Little Sisters of the Poor. We will be selling flowers after all masses on the weekend of May 4th & 5th. Help us support our wonderful seminarians and those discerning a call to religious life.
On Saturday, May 11th, the Sodality will host a Women’s Brunch in the Parish Hall from 10am – 2pm. Come break bread with us and hear Amy Schisler, Catholic speaker, catechist, and award-winning author, share Mary Magdalene’s story of being transformed by Christ. Learn how Mary was one person and then became another, the Apostle to the Apostles. Save the Date! On June 8th, our parish will host it's spring fundraiser with the theme, "Spurs & Sparkles". The event will include a delicious dinner, live entertainment by The Jones Boys, a Silent & Live Auction, 50/50 Raffle, and much more. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online or after any Mass starting on April 27 & 28. The USCCB's president and the chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities announced a nationwide invitation to prayer. On March 26, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a case that could impact the widespread accessibility of chemical abortion (abortion pills). Chemical abortions are now the most common form of abortion in the United States. The Second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. Our parish will host a Holy Hour from 3:00-4:00p.m. at St. Benedict Church that day followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall. All parishioners are encouraged to attend.
On St. Patrick's Day, Sunday, March 17th, many parishioners gathered for a festive celebration in the parish hall featuring a chili cook-off in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Special Italian desserts were also featured in anticipation of the Feast Day of St. Joseph on March 19th. Winners of the Chili Cook-Off were: Tony & Denise Sala - Best Overall Chili; Chuck & Erika Gailunas - Most Unique Chili; and Mike & Michele Groves - Best Flavor/Spice. Our parish Youth Ministry will be hosting their annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, January 27th from 5:00-8:00pm in the Parish Hall. There will be a choice of two seatings: 5:00pm & 6:30p.m. Menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, desserts, and drinks. Tickets are $8 each with a maximum price of $40 per family. RSVP via Flocknote or contact the parish office by 1/24. Tickets for a Money Raffle in conjunction with the dinner will also be on sale after all Masses on January 13/14 & January 20/21. Cost is $5 per ticket or 5 for $20.
On Saturday, December 16th, we will have an Advent Faith Formation Gathering which will include Mass, a free lunch and a presentation on the Eucharist by Sr. Deidre Byrne, POSC. Sr. Deidre is a retired Army Colonel and doctor who is currently the superior of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts house near Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Our parish Fundraising Committee is excited to announce this year’s parish Christmas Bazaar, “Rockin’ Round the Christmas Tree”, which will be held on Friday, December 1st (5:00-9:00p.m.) and Saturday, December 2nd (8:00a.m.-2:00p.m.) in the Parish Hall/Family Life Center. Friday evening's festivities will feature a cocktail hour & dinner with live entertainment and a live auction, shopping with local vendors at the Tinsel & Treasures Marketplace, and a silent auction. Saturday will feature delicious homemade food, more opportunities to shop at the Tinsel & Treasures Marketplace, a visit from Santa and more. We hope to see you there!
The National Eucharistic Congress will take place this week from July 17-21 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Please pray for the success of the Congress which is the culmination of the past two years of planning and evangelizing. The Congress follows the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage whose pilgrims have carried and accompanied the Body of our Lord across the United States for the past two months. These pilgrims started from four different points throughout the US and will converge in Indianapolis on July 17th. Bishop Koenig will be there with a delegation from our diocese!

Our annual Parish Bazaar will be held on Friday, December 2 (5-9pm) and Saturday, December 3 (8am-2pm) in the Parish Hall. This year's theme is "Rockin' Round the Christmas Tree". The event will include a dinner and silent & live auction on Friday night and an array of vendors on both Friday and Saturday. There will also be great homemade food, kids' activities and much more. Our third annual 40 Hours Devotion will take place on October 12, 13 & 14, 2023. This year's theme is, "Rediscovering the Eucharist". As we observe this year of parish revival during the National Eucharistic Revival, we hope you will join us for this sacred Eucharistic observance which will include adoration, prayer, Communal Anointing of the Sick, confessions and special presentations by guest speaker, Fr. James Spera. The devotion will close with Mass and a Eucharistic Procession on October 14th followed by a delicious free dinner in the Parish Hall (RSVP required).
